My Favorite Gadget
You all know that I discussed my iPod purchase a few days ago and that I was using it a little bit differently than maybe most anyone would. I swear it just gets better and better. I don’t think I’ve been so delighted with a gadget in years. I wanted to start sharing with you the ways that I am using it and update what I’m finding. It is one of those gadget purchases that I will tell you that you need to save up and give yourself. I will be an advocate for that and hopefully give you ways to help earn enough to purchase it free. I mean how else would I expect you (or me) to make a purchase?
I told you before how I got it at Target. I saved my receipt and this past week I got a price adjustment on it for the 10% off coupon that is currently on the Target Coupon Printer and I was given a $5.00/$75.00 coupon = a whopping $24.50 back on the purchase of the 8 gb iPod Touch. So the moral to that story is save your receipts! Even Amazon will do price adjustments.
Once you have an iPod Touch, sign up for an iTunes account to be able to search for apps, songs and videos. Below are the ones I have downloaded and started to use.
Target App – Access the weekly ad, special events like Christmas At Target, Registries + Lists, browse and more. Ton’s more info to include a store finder.
Walmart App – Not as extensive as the Target app, but it beats nothing. Currently it seems that you can only search for electronics. It does have a store finder.
My Shopping List App – Great tool! Extensive entries already and you can add your own. It also has an email function. I’ll be emailing my hubby shopping list for his after work pickups for dinner, etc.
iFood Lite – Recipes, videos, shopping list, etc
Kindle App – I access my Kindle account and download duplications of what I already own onto the iPod Touch and now I can read them in bed, etc. Works great for recipe books. Just take the iPod to the kitchen to use, and make a shopping list using the above app.
Amazon App – Sign into your account to view Amazon Gold Box deals & shop via a secure connection. Great app and works great.
American Greetings App – Send e-Cards on the fly! Loads to select from in several categories.
Social Networking Apps – Facebook, Twitter and AIM
TextFree Lite – Those who have this app can text free to one another without a phone. Heavy text users can pay $5.99 and upgrade to unlimited texts.
